What We Believe

At RACOMI – Ralph Coutard Ministry, we believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation of Christian faith, teaching, worship, and daily living. As a ministry rooted in the Seventh-day Adventist Christian faith, we seek to share the love of Jesus Christ, the hope of salvation, the power of prayer, and the message of God’s truth for these last days.

Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and understand their beliefs as teachings of the Holy Scriptures. The church summarizes these teachings in 28 Fundamental Beliefs, including beliefs about God, humanity, salvation, the church, Christian living, and God’s final restoration of all things.

1. We Believe in the Holy Scriptures

We believe the Old and New Testaments are the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible reveals God’s character, His plan of salvation, and His will for humanity.

Bible Verse:
Psalm 119:105 — “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

2. We Believe in One God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

We believe there is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three eternal Persons. God is Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, and worthy of all worship. The official Adventist belief statement describes God as one God in three co-eternal Persons.

Bible Verse:
Matthew 28:19 — “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

3. We Believe in Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He lived a perfect life, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and ministers for us today. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life.

Bible Verse:
John 3:16 — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…”

4. We Believe in Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe salvation is a gift from God. We are not saved by our own works, but by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Good works are the fruit of a transformed life, not the price of salvation.

Bible Verse:
Ephesians 2:8 — “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

5. We Believe in Creation

We believe God created the heavens and the earth. Seventh-day Adventists believe Scripture reveals God’s historical creation work and that the seventh-day Sabbath was established as a memorial of Creation.

Bible Verse:
Genesis 2:2–3 — “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day…”

6. We Believe in the Sabbath

We believe the seventh-day Sabbath, from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, is God’s holy day of rest, worship, fellowship, and ministry. Adventist belief teaches that the fourth commandment calls for observance of the seventh-day Sabbath in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath.

Bible Verse:
Exodus 20:8 — “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

7. We Believe in the Law of God

We believe the Ten Commandments reveal God’s character of love and show humanity how to love God and love others. The law does not save us, but it guides the life of the believer who has been saved by grace.

Bible Verse:
John 14:15 — “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

8. We Believe in Prayer

We believe prayer connects the human heart with God. Through prayer, we worship, confess, give thanks, ask for help, seek guidance, and grow in faith.

Bible Verse:
Philippians 4:6 — “In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

9. We Believe in the Gift of Prophecy

We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to the church. Seventh-day Adventists believe the gift of prophecy is one of these gifts and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White, while also affirming that the Bible remains the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested.

Bible Verse:
Revelation 12:17 — “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed…”

10. We Believe in Christian Living

We believe Christians are called to live lives of faith, obedience, humility, compassion, health, stewardship, and service. Our bodies, minds, time, talents, and resources belong to God.

Bible Verse:
1 Corinthians 10:31 — “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

11. We Believe in the Second Coming of Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ will return visibly, personally, and gloriously. His Second Coming is the blessed hope of the church and the final answer to sin, suffering, injustice, and death.

Bible Verse:
John 14:3 — “I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

12. We Believe in the Resurrection and Eternal Life

We believe that those who die in Christ rest in the grave until the resurrection. At the Second Coming, the faithful will be raised to eternal life with Jesus.

Bible Verse:
1 Thessalonians 4:16 — “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout…”

13. We Believe in the New Earth

We believe God will finally destroy sin and restore creation. The redeemed will live with God forever in a new heaven and a new earth, where there will be no more pain, death, sorrow, or crying.

Bible Verse:
Revelation 21:4 — “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes…”

Our Mission of Faith

At RACOMI, our belief is more than words. It is a call to live for Christ, pray with faith, study the Bible, keep God’s commandments, honor the Sabbath, serve others, and prepare our hearts for the soon return of Jesus.
