Key Scripture: Romans 12:13
Hospitality turns the Christian home outward. It welcomes others with warmth, dignity, food, conversation, prayer, and belonging.
A family does not need a large house or expensive meal to practice hospitality. A simple invitation offered sincerely can encourage a visitor, student, single adult, new church member, or lonely neighbor.
Hospitality should involve the whole household when appropriate. Children can help prepare, welcome guests, and learn to notice people who might otherwise be overlooked.
Healthy boundaries are still important. Families should consider safety, energy, finances, and personal needs. Hospitality is generous, but it is not a competition or a demand for perfection.
The Sabbath provides a natural opportunity to share fellowship after worship. Around the table, strangers can become friends and faith can be strengthened through testimony and conversation.
Prayer:
Welcoming God, open our hearts and homes. Help our families practice simple, joyful, wise, and Christ-centered hospitality. Amen.
