THE CHURCH AS AN EXTENDED FAMILY

Key Scripture: Ephesians 2:19

Adventist belief recognizes the church as the family of God, embracing both married and single people. No believer should be treated as incomplete because of marital status.

A healthy congregation supports children, couples, single adults, widowed people, divorced people, caregivers, and families experiencing difficulty. It creates fellowship without assuming that every household looks the same.

Church members can become spiritual grandparents, mentors, friends, and sources of practical help. Shared meals, small groups, family ministries, and intergenerational service help relationships grow.

The church should strengthen marriage while also showing compassion to those whose experiences fall short of the ideal. Truth and grace belong together.

Leaders must take reports of abuse seriously and prioritize safety. Protecting vulnerable people is part of Christian responsibility.

When the church lives as a loving family, it gives the world a glimpse of God’s kingdom.

Prayer:
Father, make Your church a caring family. Help us welcome, protect, encourage, and disciple people in every season of life. Amen.
