TEACHING CHILDREN TO LOVE JESUS

Key Scripture: Mark 10:13″16

Jesus welcomed children and showed that they are precious in His kingdom. Christian parenting should help children see Him as a loving, tender, and trustworthy Savior.

Children learn about Jesus through Bible stories, prayer, songs, Sabbath School, family worship, and service. They also learn through the emotional atmosphere of the home. If faith is connected mainly with fear and punishment, they may misunderstand God’s character.

Discipline is necessary, but it should teach rather than humiliate. Clear limits, consistent consequences, affection, and explanation help children grow in wisdom and self-control.

Parents should speak about salvation in simple language. Jesus loves them, forgives them, and invites them to follow Him. As children mature, they should be encouraged to make their own thoughtful commitment.

The greatest spiritual gift parents can offer is an authentic relationship with Christ that children can observe every day.

Prayer:
Jesus, draw our children close to You. Help parents and churches reveal Your kindness, truth, forgiveness, and joy. Amen.
