Key Scripture: Psalm 34:18
Divorce brings grief, confusion, and major changes for adults and children. While Adventists uphold God’s ideal of lifelong marriage, the church must respond to broken relationships with truth, compassion, and hope.
People experiencing divorce need safe places to grieve without gossip or shame. Pastoral care, professional counseling, legal guidance, and supportive friendships may help them navigate difficult decisions.
Children should be protected from adult conflict. They need reassurance that they are loved and are not responsible for the separation.
Healing requires time. A divorced person’s value and place in the family of God do not disappear. Christ remains near to the brokenhearted and can build a meaningful future.
Questions about reconciliation, divorce, and remarriage can be complex. They should be approached prayerfully, biblically, and with qualified guidance rather than quick judgment.
Prayer:
Healing God, comfort every person affected by divorce. Protect children, guide difficult decisions, and restore hope through Your grace. Amen.
