Key Scripture: Psalm 90:12
Work is honorable, but it should not consume every part of life. Families need time for worship, conversation, rest, affection, and shared experiences.
Seventh-day Adventists recognize the Sabbath as a weekly protection against endless labor. The seventh day reminds families that their worth is not determined by productivity and that God remains their Provider.
Balance requires intentional choices during the rest of the week as well. Couples can compare schedules, protect family meals, establish limits on work messages, and reserve time for one another and their children.
Some seasons require unusual effort. A new job, illness, or financial need may temporarily affect routines. Honest communication helps family members understand the situation and remain connected.
Providing financially is important, but presence is also a form of provision. Children and spouses need attention that cannot always be postponed.
Prayer:
Lord of time, help families balance work, worship, rest, and relationships. Teach us to invest our days in what matters most. Amen.
