MARRIAGE REFLECTS CHRIST AND THE CHURCH

Key Scripture: Ephesians 5:25″33

The Bible uses marriage as an illustration of the relationship between Christ and His church. Jesus loves His people sacrificially, remains faithful to them, and works for their spiritual good.

Christian marriage should reflect this love. It is not a relationship of domination or selfish control. Husband and wife are called to serve one another with humility, placing love above pride and the good of the family above personal ambition.

This symbolism gives marriage a spiritual mission. The way spouses forgive, encourage, cooperate, and remain faithful can show others something about the character of Christ.

No marriage represents Jesus perfectly. Every couple needs grace. When spouses confess their failures and allow God to renew them, even their process of healing can become a testimony.

A Christlike marriage is built through ordinary acts of devotion: a patient response, a burden shared, a promise kept, a prayer offered, and forgiveness freely given.

Prayer:
Jesus, help Christian couples reflect Your faithful and self-giving love. Make their homes living testimonies of Your grace. Amen.
