Key Scripture: Exodus 20:1″17
The Ten Commandments are not an arbitrary list from a distant ruler. They reveal the character of a God who is holy, faithful, truthful, just, and loving. The first four commandments guide our relationship with God, while the final six guide our relationships with other people.
Seventh-day Adventists understand God’s law as an enduring expression of His will. Each commandment protects something precious: worship, sacred time, family, life, marriage, property, truth, and contentment. When we study the law through the life of Jesus, we see that obedience is love in action.
Prayer:
Holy God, write Your loving character upon our hearts and help us reflect it in every relationship. Amen.
