The fifth commandment speaks to children, but Scripture also addresses parents. Adults must guide without cruelty, teach without hypocrisy, and discipline without humiliation.
Parents represent authority to a child and should model God’s patience and justice. Apologizing after a mistake does not weaken authority; it demonstrates truth and grace. The goal is not control but mature disciples who know the loving character of Christ.

Heavenly Father, help parents lead with consistency, tenderness, wisdom, and a faithful example. Amen.
