Key Scripture: Song of Solomon 2:10
Marriage needs more than shared responsibilities. Couples also need friendship, affection, appreciation, and enjoyable time together.
Romance does not depend on expensive gifts. A kind message, a walk, a favorite meal, a sincere compliment, or uninterrupted conversation can communicate love. The most meaningful gesture is often one that shows careful attention.
Busy couples should schedule time together rather than waiting for free time to appear. Regular connection protects the marriage from becoming only a working partnership.
Spouses should continue learning about one another. Interests, pressures, hopes, and needs change through the years. Curiosity keeps friendship alive.
Romance must always be joined with respect and faithfulness. It cannot compensate for unresolved dishonesty or harmful behavior. When necessary, couples should address deeper problems with prayer and counseling.
Prayer:
God of love, renew friendship and affection in marriage. Help couples delight in one another and express appreciation often. Amen.
