PRAYING TOGETHER AS A COUPLE

Key Scripture: Matthew 18:19″20

Prayer brings a husband and wife before the One who understands them completely. Couples who pray together acknowledge that their marriage needs God’s wisdom and strength.

Shared prayer does not need to be long or complicated. A couple may thank God for daily blessings, confess failures, pray for their children, and present current concerns. Hearing a spouse pray can reveal burdens that ordinary conversation has missed.

Prayer should never become a weapon. One spouse should not preach at or criticize the other while speaking to God. Its purpose is communion, humility, and united dependence on the Lord.

Some couples may initially feel uncomfortable praying aloud. They can begin with a short Scripture or a simple sentence of gratitude. Consistency is more important than impressive words.

Prayer does not replace honest communication or practical action. It gives couples the spirit needed to communicate and act wisely.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, draw married couples together in prayer. Give them humble hearts, spiritual unity, and confidence in Your care. Amen.
