Legalism tries to earn God’s acceptance through performance or uses rules to claim superiority. Biblical obedience begins with being loved and saved by Christ.
Jesus said that love for Him leads to keeping His commandments. This obedience is humble because it depends on grace. It is joyful because it trusts God’s wisdom. It is compassionate because the law’s purpose is love, not condemnation of others.

Jesus, protect us from spiritual pride and make our obedience a humble response to Your love. Amen.
