THE SABBATH AND FAMILY CLOSENESS

Key Scripture: Isaiah 58:13″14

The seventh-day Sabbath is a special gift for families. During the week, work, school, appointments, and technology can separate household members. Sabbath invites everyone to stop ordinary labor and reconnect with God and one another.

Families can welcome the Sabbath with prayer, music, and a peaceful meal. They can worship at church, study the Bible, walk in nature, visit someone who is lonely, or share testimonies of God’s care.

Parents should present the Sabbath as a delight rather than merely a list of restrictions. Children are more likely to love the day when it includes affection, creativity, spiritual discovery, and service.

Not every Sabbath will be perfect. The purpose is not performance but relationship. Even a simple tradition can build treasured memories and reinforce the family’s identity as followers of Jesus.

Prayer:
Creator God, bless families through the Sabbath. Give our homes rest, worship, joyful fellowship, and renewed love. Amen.
